In July, the Egyptian and Japanese mural painting team has been working on finishing the conservation plan for the mural paintings as well as to plan for the next transportation of the murals which are currently being displayed at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
The team began experimenting different methods to remove hard crusts which are stuck on the surface of the paintings and finally decided on a method to remove them. Removing these crusts requires a delicate work using specialized tools by skilled conservators to avoid removing the pigments of the surface of the paintings.
